Raffles The Red Sea Opens on Shura Island: Rooms, Prices and What’s Open

Saudi Arabia’s newest Raffles, with real prices and what’s open.

The sixth property to welcome guests on Shura Island in Saudi Arabia: 168 keys, butler service to each room and a price tag starting higher than the Four Seasons next door.

On the 14th of October Red Sea Global, who are developing the whole Red Sea coast north of Jeddah announced that the Raffles The Red Sea had opened. Located on the northwestern tip of Shura Island, in between the lagoon and the open ocean. One of eleven properties planned for the island. With five more expected to open in the coming months. So states the same press release.

  • Opened October 2026. Announced on October 14th.
  • 168 keys consisting of 121 rooms, 14 suites and 33 villas with private pool.
  • Designed by Foster + Partners. The villas have been designed by ACPV Architects (Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel)
  • Prices start at approximately €930 per night for two people including breakfast. Checked for November 2026.
  • Closest airport is Red Sea International Airport. A short ride across the bridge onto the island.
  • Alcohol-free like all other hotels in Saudi Arabia.

Rooms at Raffles The Red Sea

There are 121 rooms at Raffles The Red Sea and all are 57 square meters big. No matter what category you choose. The difference will be in the view you get. If you book a Signature room you will have an inside view. While the Landmark room will give you a lagoon or ocean view. All rooms come with a terrace and the Raffles butler is included in every room category. Even the cheapest one. Which you don’t always get in hotels of this caliber. Some require you to upgrade to at least a suite to get butler service.

Junior Suites are 86 square meters and the two bedroom suites are 171 square meters. There are three different villa categories at the Raffles. Starting at 100 square meters with one bedroom. Mid-size villas are 160 square meters with two bedrooms and the largest is 260 square meters with three bedrooms. All villas come with a private pool and face either the lagoon or the beach. Red Sea Global refers to these villas as Raffles Residences The Red Sea. And describe them as a collection of exclusive one to four bedroom residences. Which probably means some of them are up for sale and not for renting. There were no villas available when we checked on the booking page. Maybe they are opening later on or maybe they can only be purchased. We will update this article when we know more.

How much does it cost at Raffles The Red Sea?

We searched for two adults on Accor’s booking page: prices per night, from two-night searches with breakfast and taxes included.

Room typeNovember 14 to 16December 10 to 12
Signature Room, 57 m²€928€980
Landmark Sea View Room, 57 m²€968€1,021
Junior Suite Lagoon View, 86 m²€1,150Not available
Two Bedroom Suite, 171 m²€1,839€1,892
Villas, 100 to 260 m²Not bookable onlineNot bookable online

So for two people you are looking at €930 per night for the cheapest room in November. And €980 per night in December. Converted to USD that’s around $1,080-$1,140 per night. Since breakfast is included you could argue that the price isn’t as high as other hotels. If they don’t include breakfast in the price.

The Four Seasons opened in May and their price started at SAR 2,975 (€680). So the Raffles is 35-40% higher in price when comparing opening rates. It could be that Raffles wants to position themselves as the most expensive hotel on the island. Or that the Four Seasons had a lower price to attract guests when they first opened. We mentioned this in our article about the Four Seasons back in May. That we thought their price was on promotion and would increase when 2027 hits. We think the Raffles price is the real one, not a launch offer.

Five restaurants and a phased opening for the spa

There are five dining options listed at Raffles The Red Sea. Ni’ma is described as Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Siparaja is Singaporean Peranakan cuisine (Chinese-Malay cooking from Singapore and Malacca). Anbara is a French patisserie with Arabic influences. El Nay is described as a pan-Arab bar with tea, coffee and shisha by the ocean. And finally the Pool Bar & Grill for lighter bites by the pool.

Like any big resort that opens, there will be some restaurants and facilities that open over time. Currently on Accor’s website Siparaja is listed as not yet available, and the Raffles Spa & Wellness (7 treatment rooms, a hammam, vitality pool and outdoor lap pool) will also be opening along with the kids club. We would advise if you are visiting within the first couple of months to contact the hotel to see what restaurants and facilities will be open during your stay.

What else is there on Shura Island?

As mentioned Shura Island is the main island in the Red Sea Global development. The island is shaped like a dolphin and covers an area of 5.6 square kilometers. You can drive over to the island using an electric car on the 3.3 kilometer long bridge. The closest airport is Red Sea International Airport which is located right across the water. Etihad Airways recently started flying from Abu Dhabi to the airport on Sundays and Thursdays. There are also flights available to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Doha and Milan.

Raffles is located close to the marina and shops on the island. And not far from Shura Links golf course. Which is the first golf course on an island in Saudi Arabia. Both the golf course and clubhouse opened last fall. The clubhouse was designed by Foster + Partners.

Here’s a list of what is open on Shura Island as of late October 2026. To the best of our knowledge:

Hotel / FacilityStatus (Late October 2026)
The Red Sea EDITIONOpen (November 2025)
SLS The Red SeaOpen
InterContinental The Red Sea ResortOpen
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red SeaOpen (May 20, 2026)
Miraval The Red SeaOpen
Raffles The Red SeaOpen (announced October 14, 2026; phased rollout for spa and select dining)
Shura Links (18-hole golf course and clubhouse)Open (Fall 2025)
Faena, Fairmont, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Rosewood (5 hotels)Expected in the coming months

When all 11 hotels open on Shura it’s going to be an amazing island. We understand if you want all the facilities open such as the spa and all restaurants, but if not, go for it!

Who is Raffles The Red Sea good for?

Every room comes with butler service, so if you’re looking for a great couple or family resort that has this and starts at 57 m² with breakfast included, you can’t go wrong with Raffles. It’s located near the marina and golf course. As mentioned before, each hotel on Shura offers something different. Four Seasons has the longest beach on the island (1.3 km) and Miraval is adults-only.

We haven’t stayed at the hotel. Everything above is based on the press release from Red Sea Global, the hotel’s booking page on Accor and what we know from the Four Seasons opening on the island in May.

We’ll be back with a full review once we have visited.
