10 New Luxury Ski Hotels Opening in the Alps This Winter

Ten new Alpine hotels opening this December.

Ten new luxury ski hotels open this winter: four in Courchevel, two in Cortina and one each in Verbier, Gstaad, Les Menuires and Zillertal. Most open between December 3 and 18.

There are seasons where snow is the story. This year it’s new luxury ski hotels.

There will be more new luxury ski hotels opening in the Alps over two weeks in December than in years past. In Courchevel, three new or reborn hotels in 1850 and a large new one in La Tania. Cortina d’Ampezzo, which hosted the Olympics last February, gets two new hotels. These are aimed at guests who enjoy the hustle and bustle of a town, not just skiing. Finally we have two new additions to Verbier and Gstaad, smaller and more low-key than the grand hotels those resorts are known for.

After searching press releases, hotels’ websites and booking engines, here are all 10 new hotels opening this season. We have listed them by opening date. None of these hotels are currently open so we haven’t stayed at any. Prices and dates checked on October 30, 2026 and may change.

1. Sivolière, Courchevel 1850

Opens: December 3 | Rooms: 35 Rooms & Suites + Apartments | From: €658

Sivolière isn’t new to Courchevel. It just doesn’t look anything like it did before. Built by Jean Cattelin back in 1980, one of Courchevel’s pioneers, it has been a family-friendly five-star hotel on the edge of the forest in 1850. Sivolière Hôtel & Résidence is now the hotel’s name. They have added an extension by Gilbert Architecte and new public spaces by Caprini & Pellerin. They now also offer apartments with hotel services.

With a spa like this you can see why they would want to build an extension. A 25m long pool that sits inside with views to the tree line and the mountain. You also have sauna, hammam, hot and cold baths, cryo and a pilates room with three reformers. Only available to hotel guests. The restaurant’s name is ZIA and will be run by Rocco Seminara and Manon Santini. Same name as their restaurant in Hôtel Métropole in Monaco. Expect Italian food from morning till night. Plus a Negroni bar that you make your own cocktail at.

4. Bârma, Courchevel La Tania

Opens: December 4 | Rooms: 75 Rooms & Suites + Apartments | From: Not Published

Courchevel La Tania is lower down than 1850 and has always been the gateway to Courchevel. Sitting at around 1400m, Bârma will be its first large hotel in years. Bârma will be the first hotel in the mountains from La French Collection. A new brand created by Groupe Giboire. The word Bârma is from Savoie and means shelter beneath a rock.

With its location at the bottom of the Moretta run you can ski in and out of the hotel and access all of Les 3 Vallées. Designed by Atelier Giffon in Lyon. They have moved away from the stereotypical chalet in Savoy. The spa is from Susanne Kaufmann. They have a pool and their own pool for kids and a gym. Bârma will be a four-star hotel. Which gives you a cheaper way to stay in Courchevel.

You have an indoor pool, cold plunge, hot tub (inspired by the Japanese onsen), sauna, hammam and three treatment rooms. The restaurant is called The Peak and will be run by chef Mario Paiva. It has a feel of a New York brasserie. The Listening Room is the bar and will have you staying longer than expected. The Ski Lodge is certified Minergie.

7. °Fahrenheit Seven, Les Menuires

Opens: December | Rooms: 8 Room Categories | From: ~€300 with Breakfast

°Fahrenheit Seven has already opened in Val Thorens and Courchevel. So it is only natural they expand to Les Menuires. Located in the Preyerand area of Les Menuires at the foot of the slopes of Les 3 Vallées. A four-star hotel with its own spa, which has walls of glass. The spa has a heated 12-meter indoor pool, sauna and steam room. There’s an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant with a Savoyard twist, a ski bar and a 200 m² terrace for après-ski with Veuve Clicquot.

This is the cheapest on our list. It’s half the price of the new hotels in Courchevel 1850. But you still have access to all of Les 3 Vallées.
