Ten new Alpine hotels opening this December.
Ten new luxury ski hotels open this winter: four in Courchevel, two in Cortina and one each in Verbier, Gstaad, Les Menuires and Zillertal. Most open between December 3 and 18.
There are seasons where snow is the story. This year it’s new luxury ski hotels.
There will be more new luxury ski hotels opening in the Alps over two weeks in December than in years past. In Courchevel, three new or reborn hotels in 1850 and a large new one in La Tania. Cortina d’Ampezzo, which hosted the Olympics last February, gets two new hotels. These are aimed at guests who enjoy the hustle and bustle of a town, not just skiing. Finally we have two new additions to Verbier and Gstaad, smaller and more low-key than the grand hotels those resorts are known for.
After searching press releases, hotels’ websites and booking engines, here are all 10 new hotels opening this season. We have listed them by opening date. None of these hotels are currently open so we haven’t stayed at any. Prices and dates checked on October 30, 2026 and may change.

1. Sivolière, Courchevel 1850
Opens: December 3 | Rooms: 35 Rooms & Suites + Apartments | From: €658
Sivolière isn’t new to Courchevel. It just doesn’t look anything like it did before. Built by Jean Cattelin back in 1980, one of Courchevel’s pioneers, it has been a family-friendly five-star hotel on the edge of the forest in 1850. Sivolière Hôtel & Résidence is now the hotel’s name. They have added an extension by Gilbert Architecte and new public spaces by Caprini & Pellerin. They now also offer apartments with hotel services.
With a spa like this you can see why they would want to build an extension. A 25m long pool that sits inside with views to the tree line and the mountain. You also have sauna, hammam, hot and cold baths, cryo and a pilates room with three reformers. Only available to hotel guests. The restaurant’s name is ZIA and will be run by Rocco Seminara and Manon Santini. Same name as their restaurant in Hôtel Métropole in Monaco. Expect Italian food from morning till night. Plus a Negroni bar that you make your own cocktail at.

Great if you: Have kids and want to ski in/out of the hotel.
2. The First Cortina, Cortina d’Ampezzo
Opens: December 4 | Rooms: 76 Rooms & Suites | From: €981
Hotel Venezia reopens on December 4 on Corso Italia, the high street of Cortina, as The First Cortina. This is the first hotel from The Pavilions group in the Alps, who also have The First in Rome. If you want Cortina as close to you as the slopes this is your hotel.
They have brought Zuma to the Dolomites and on the ground floor will open Velo. A pastry store they also have in Rome. The spa is called REVĪVŌ and takes up 1,000 m². Not bad for a hotel on a pedestrianized high street. The Dolomiti Superski season starts on November 28. According to the hotel association in Cortina they have seen over 20% more bookings for December and January compared to last year.

Great if you: Want to go out and have dinner.
3. Fouquet’s Gstaad, Saanen
Opens: December 4 | Rooms: 33 Rooms + Chalet | From: Not Published
You would think Gstaad is full of hotels but there are so many large grand hotels that smaller properties are hard to come by. Fouquet’s Gstaad is located in Saanen just below Gstaad. Taking over the hotel that was the show piece for Ultima. This is the 6th Fouquet’s property to open and the first in Switzerland.
There is a huge spa taking up over 800 m². You have a pool 15m long inside. Hot tubs inside and out. A snow shower and treatments from Augustinus Bader. There will be a Zuma pop-up in the hotel with a terrace. For groups, there is also a private nine-bedroom chalet of 1,500 m².

Great if you: Want Gstaad without the grand-hotel scale.
4. Bârma, Courchevel La Tania
Opens: December 4 | Rooms: 75 Rooms & Suites + Apartments | From: Not Published
Courchevel La Tania is lower down than 1850 and has always been the gateway to Courchevel. Sitting at around 1400m, Bârma will be its first large hotel in years. Bârma will be the first hotel in the mountains from La French Collection. A new brand created by Groupe Giboire. The word Bârma is from Savoie and means shelter beneath a rock.
With its location at the bottom of the Moretta run you can ski in and out of the hotel and access all of Les 3 Vallées. Designed by Atelier Giffon in Lyon. They have moved away from the stereotypical chalet in Savoy. The spa is from Susanne Kaufmann. They have a pool and their own pool for kids and a gym. Bârma will be a four-star hotel. Which gives you a cheaper way to stay in Courchevel.

Great if you: Are traveling with family/friends and want to access Les 3 Vallées but on a budget.
5. The Ski Lodge, Verbier
Opens: December | Rooms: 36 Rooms | From: CHF 549 (€590)
If there is one thing Verbier has plenty of it’s chalets. Small hotels are hard to find. Located on the Rue de la Poste about 100m from Place Centrale. The Ski Lodge has 36 rooms and no TVs. Many of the rooms have a small bunk over the double which makes them great for families.
You have an indoor pool, cold plunge, hot tub (inspired by the Japanese onsen), sauna, hammam and three treatment rooms. The restaurant is called The Peak and will be run by chef Mario Paiva. It has a feel of a New York brasserie. The Listening Room is the bar and will have you staying longer than expected. The Ski Lodge is certified Minergie.

Great if you: Are a couple/group of friends and want to be in the heart of Verbier.
6. Le Graal Cortina, Cortina d’Ampezzo
Opens: December | Rooms: 30 Rooms & Suites | From: €1,250
Le Graal is a new collection of hotels in Italy. The first will be opening in Cortina. It is located in a palazzo from the 1920’s in Via Marconi. Walking distance to the center and lifts. The hotel joined The Leading Hotels of the World in October.

The restaurant Le Monsù will be created with Chef Giovanni Guarneri. He was previously at Don Camillo on Ortigia. Expect a Sicilian style menu in the heart of the Dolomites. They have an indoor pool, hammam and cryo in the spa.

Great if you: Would rather have a smaller hotel with great dining over a massive spa.
7. °Fahrenheit Seven, Les Menuires
Opens: December | Rooms: 8 Room Categories | From: ~€300 with Breakfast
°Fahrenheit Seven has already opened in Val Thorens and Courchevel. So it is only natural they expand to Les Menuires. Located in the Preyerand area of Les Menuires at the foot of the slopes of Les 3 Vallées. A four-star hotel with its own spa, which has walls of glass. The spa has a heated 12-meter indoor pool, sauna and steam room. There’s an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant with a Savoyard twist, a ski bar and a 200 m² terrace for après-ski with Veuve Clicquot.
This is the cheapest on our list. It’s half the price of the new hotels in Courchevel 1850. But you still have access to all of Les 3 Vallées.

Great if you: Want to spend more time on the mountain and less time at the hotel.
8. THE GREEN, Zillertal
Opens: December 11 | Rooms: 75 Rooms & Suites | From: €406 half board & Spa

Simonetta is the name of the restaurant. Run by Simone Zanoni. Who was the executive chef at Le George in the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. Downstairs there is a Spa with a pool, sauna, hammam and contrast bath. Located in the center of 1850 with ski in/out.
